Hello sweet friends. I have a few updates to show you on the condo. I found a pretty chandelier for the bathroom from Menards. Much better than the old 1980's ceiling light.
|
Brings in some bling and pretty to the bathroom. |
|
Remember my last post on the wallpaper for the one bedroom wall. I have been on the fence about it. Trying to decide if I want to do a focal wall around my desk by the inset window. Wallpaper is such a commitment!!! Right? I want to make sure I want this. I decided to try it out in a few other places first to see it up and not just a swatch. |
Soooooooo...
|
I decided to try it on the small wall in my bathroom behind the mirror and vanity. Keeping it real with our Waterpick toothbrush lol! |
|
I think it goes well with the other gray, black and white I have going in this bathroom. Which by the way bathrooms are the hardest places to get decent pics. No light and you have to practically stand on your head to get a picture!!!! With this being a big pattern I just do not want to overwhelm the space or have that in your face look. I think this small wall and bigger bathroom can handle this. |
Ok now on to the New Treasure.....
|
Found this sweet treasure on FB Market Place. Love at first sight. |
|
Look at her pretty lines and details. As you can see from the sweet lady's pictures on FB she is moving and I was so happy to buy this piece and take it off her hands! |
|
So the other day I set out to paint this sweet girl. I used basic white cabinet paint. I always love cabinet paint because of its thickness and it adheres pretty well and holds up nicely. |
|
Terry and I moved her into our bedroom. I had one of those moments where I thought let's try the wallpaper inside this piece. Yep Terry just loves my moments lol!!! He obliged and hung some pieces inside this armoire for me. I like it very much.
She needs her shelves and door with beveled mirror put back on. I am waiting on some baskets I ordered to arrive to put the shelves back in. Then I can show you the finish piece along with the bedroom.
As you can see behind the armoire the wainscot is up and new chair rail.
Now I just have to make up my mind on the wallpaper for the one wall. Since we put the wainscot up all the way around the room it would only be a half wall of the paper above the wainscot. Waiting on some new bedding pieces to come and hopefully then I can show you the whole room.
I will have the living room and dining room final to show you this weekend.
The kitchen is almost all done and ready to show too.
Have a great rest of the week. Hugs, Kris |
Love that wallpaper in your bathroom! The armoire is an amazing piece! I finally just posted my living and dining before and after on my blog today!
ReplyDeleteI love the light and the wallpaper looks so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love that wallpaper, it looks so gorgeous in your bathroom!!!! The armoire was a great find and I like that you used the wallpaper on the back as a nice unexpected touch.
ReplyDelete~Des
LOVE the wallpaper!! Where did you get it?
ReplyDeleteThe condo is looking incredible!
I bought it from a local wallpaper store. It is from the Chesapeake or York Farmhouse Wallpaper book.
DeleteLOVE that chandy in the bathroom!! And your new piece of treasure is lovely!
ReplyDeleteKRIS...
ReplyDeleteBrilliance has struck once again, chez vous.
I think putting that wallpaper in your bathroom was a GREAT choice as well as in the armoire. You get to use the paper you ordered and given that you weren't sure if you would be happy with it in the bedroom, you are able to see how it works in other settings where those glorious blooms really add as a compliment rather than a MAIN attraction.
You really know what you're doing.....brilliant!
Kris, that wallpaper in the bathroom looks beautiful and same for the chandelier. The wallpaper in the armoire is a great idea too. You and Terry are doing a great job decorating the condo. I hope you have a nice weekend Kris.
ReplyDeleteOMG The paper looks fabulous in the bathroom! It is perfect. Love the chandelier and the new furniture piece. You find such wonderful pieces. We are sweltering here with heat indexes in and around 110. I'm just staying in where it's cool. Have a great weekend. Am so enjoying all your posts about your new home.
ReplyDeleteLove the wallpaper! And what a beautiful piece that armoire is! You and Terry are amazing.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the walls, it's gorgeous and so is the light.
ReplyDeleteScore again on the cabinet. Love the wallpaper inside.
Gorgeous my friend
Love the wallpaper, Kris. Everything is looking gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, girl! That wallpaper looks gorgeous everywhere you put it! Can't wait to see what you end up doing with it in the bedroom! I think if it's only above the wainscoting, it'll definitely not be too much. Can you tack it up to see if you'll like it first? Btw, that piece you found on FBMP is gahgeous! Do you ever sit still?? 😜
ReplyDeleteLove the chandelier and your new treasure is amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour little chandy is so darling, and I love the wallpaper behind the mirror in the bath! :D AND I like it in the back of the armoire. You could also put some on the inside of the door of the armoire if it's flat. Does the wallpaper have a companion fabric? You could make a cute French mood board for your little office area, too. I love the pattern! I love the roses and shades of black and white. (I saw that in a decorator's show house and loved how it the board matched the wallpaper in the room.) Can you tell I'm a fan of the wallpaper you chose?
ReplyDeleteWOW....I love the wallpaper and it looks great on the one wall. That is bascially how I have always done paper or any wall treatment. I like a touch of it but not all over. And you armoire is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the wallpaper in the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteEverything is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe wallpaper looks very nice on ´ the bathroom and the armoire.

Kris, the wallpaper is gorgeous. I love how you are using it. The armoire is to die for. Wow! Just love the details and how the paint changed it into a soft and romantic piece. You certainly have the touch, my friend. You are quickly making the condo into your style. So fun following you and seeing it all unfold. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI love your new, bigger space as your canvas, Kris. You're making the place beautiful. Love both your new pieces and how you've decided to use the wallpaper so far. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am so enjoying watching this transformation. The wallpaper is the perfect touch in the bathroom, and the armoire is a stunning beauty!

ReplyDeleteThe chandelier is fabulous and from Menards, no less! Back in the day when I worked in a furniture store/interior design studio, we had gorgeous chandeliers hanging all over the store. You would have loved it! The wallpaper is so pretty and it looks right at home in the bathroom (and the armoire). The armoire is pretty gorgeous on its own but I can't wait to see you perform your magic with it.
ReplyDeleteSuper hot and stormy today. A good day to stay in and fluff some things. Have an excellent weekend! xoxo
Oh my goodness - I really love that chandelier and how the wallpaper looks in there Kris! As for the armoire - it's heavenly! Being painted in white, will really bring out those beautiful features. ReplyDeleteKris, you know I love color and use a lot of it, but everytime I see what you are doing with your beautiful whites, I become very envious! I absolutely love the wall in your bathroom. You know, if that were me, I would cover the whole room with the wallpaper and I think it would be so striking. But, you will do what is right for you and it will turn out the best ever. After seeing your post, I was looking at a catalog (CountryDoor.com) that I get in the mail. There is the sweetest quilt that looks to me to match your wallpaper pretty closely, just thought you might want to take a peek at it..It is called Elyse Ruffle Oversized Quilt, grey and white and reverses to grey pin stripe.. Pretty good price too..Happy June..xxoJudy
