The shiplap wall along with my neutral woods looks pretty together. I was going for a vintage garden theme. |
I added my vintage garden hats to the shiplap wall. |
Along the other side of the salvage window is the arched window box. |
I love my arched salvage wood window. I used this piece to start the French cottage garden look. |
Just think of this room as bright and white with texture added from the light woods and garden hats. I wanted the flowers to be mostly prairie style. |
Hi Kris,
ReplyDeleteYour dining room looks lovely..........hopefully it will put a bit of spring into you sunshine less days. That dreary weather does get to anyone after a while. I agree
easier to handle the cold than the dreariness. Love that you added the hats to your
walls, they looks so cute, and really liked the whole wall motif. Beautiful as always.
Hope this finds you doing well. Has Terry started his new job now? Hope he is
loving it.
blessings,
Nellie
WOW!!! I love this Kris. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNO sunshine here as well, for over a week now. Oh goodness, only cold and damp.
Take Care,
Carla
Kris, sun or not, this room is outstanding. It's so beautiful, light and bright! You always have great vision and perfect execution. I just know you'll really enjoy this room!! I hope you get sun this week!! xo
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so fresh, feminine and spring-like! Certainly brings some cheer to this non-stop dreary days, doesn't it? If we could get a sunny day here soon, sure would be nice...

ReplyDeleteGood morning Kris! Yeah, in our new home (now three weeks exactly since we moved) we have only had ONE day of sunshine But, you have done a wonderful job of redecorating your dining area. That chippy, old window is a classic!
ReplyDeleteYour dining room is lovely, even without the sun. We all could use some sunshine these days. Hope your week is splendid! xoxo
ReplyDeleteKris, even without sunshine, your room looks so cheery and bright. Your din(no room wall look fabulous with the arched chippy windows and vintage hats. I love your table and chairs. Where did the slip covers go? A picture of the whole room is lovely with your sectional and fireplace. Happy Sunday. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour dining room looks so pretty! Sending you wishes for some sunshine.
ReplyDeleteKris, you've made your own sunshine with the pretty garden theme and whites. Your new DR decor looks really pretty. Now, what'd you do in the BR from where you took the arched window??
ReplyDeleteKris I love it all! It speaks to me as a huge gardener… I wish I could pull of this lookin my own home. Sure love your style! Margy in KY
ReplyDeleteThe whole room is lovely and I am in love with that table.
ReplyDeleteYoue dining room looks AMAZING!!! So beautiful.....I love how light and airy it looks even without the sunshine. The shutter as a ceiling medallion is so clever too. Fingers crossed you get a little sunshone SOON.

gah, I can't sign in to my google acct today..
ReplyDeleteI love these two rooms of sweet restful decor.
I do not like grey days either, I turn on all of our lights, I have a few high intensity torch lights that make it feel like a sunny day.
I love the beautiful frame with the arranged flowers.
Today is a good day to find some old movie on tv.
Last evening hubbs and I watched 1.5 hours of a 1933 version of Jamaica Inn, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. It is much better than the new version out now.
Never heard of this film, but now I can imagine in the days of olden, sitting in a dark theater with a best friend or two watching this well done production
Happy Sunday
Oh that recent comment was from me

So pretty and fresh Kris, makes us all ready for Spring!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful Kris. Looks light even without the sun. Mr. Sun has been absent here mostly, though we just had 2 sunny days in a row! That was so nice. I didn't notice the shutter on the ceiling until someone mentioned it! Great idea! Love the pillows on your sofa too,,,and all the chippy goodness. Xoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful even without the sparkle of sunshine but I bet it really looks amazing with it! Love the arched window box. Really everything came together nicely. Hope you ge5 some sunny days soon.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cecilia
Your dining room is gorgeous! I can tell how pretty it is without the sunshine, but I hope the sun comes out for your happiness, though. Your accessories truly make the room. Love the arched window!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous! I love the whitewashed wood and everything fits together beautifully. Such a pretty space!! Have a fabulous week Kris! xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteI love your DR Kris with or without the sun! It looks so beautiful and your garden theme. Kris, it looks like you are ready for spring.

Even without the sunshine, the new cottage garden dining room looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKris, your dining room is stunning. Even without sunshine, the garden theme with the vintage hats is gorgeous. The arched window is a fabulous addition! It is all so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice to see a vision come through! Looks great and I know what you mean about the lack of sun! It came out for about an hour today which was pleasant but not long enough!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the dining room, Kris. It really does have that cottage look that you love. I guess I never noticed the moulding around the light fixture before. Love it and it really adds a lot to the feel. I am glad you have a Southern exposure because at least you get the brightest light possible for these long, dreary winter days. I am bummed by them, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd...LOVE the pillows on the couch/sectional. Just the perfect touch for Valentine's Day. xo Diana
It looks absolutely beautiful, we are missing the sun in Michigan too. Praying February has more for us.
ReplyDeleteI just love the French Country look you've gone with for the dining room, such a delightful theme! I love the arched wooden window, you transformed it into a beautiful piece! We have had weeks of no sun here too. Sometimes early in the morning, and at dusk, we will get some light, but it does make January a long month. Hoping you get some sunshine soon!
ReplyDeleteLove your French cottage garden theme. I am with you on the sunshine. Where in the heck is it? xo Laura
ReplyDeleteKris, I think it looks so pretty even without sunlight but I know exactly what you mean. I really don't like winter, even here in California. We have had lots of rain this time around which is good and we really needed it, but that still doesn't make me like it. We still do have days of sunlight but not enough to flood the windows which is how I like it. Be brave, winter won't last forever but with global warming who knows?!..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteEven without sun through the windows, your dining room is beautiful and still lures me to want to sit there, forgetting that it's cold outside. I especially love the view from the sofa with those stunning heart design pillows on it. The whole space is lovely!
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteThe Dining Room looks lovely!! I adore that chandy!! So pretty!! Love the French Country theme!! we have had the warmest February on record and so far, NO SNOW!!! Crazy weather....I am sure we will pay for it in March and April....Some of our best snow storms have come in March here in NEPA!
Hugs,
Deb
