Transformation of Cottage Buffet to TV Stand.

In this midst of packing and getting ready for our move I also took on a paint project.  Crazy I know.  When we move we will need a new piece for a new TV.  I saw the black buffet in the upper right corner on IG.  Loved it so much.

Thought that would be a great piece to put the TV in the new place.  The issue was the black!  You know me with neutral and whites.  This piece was gorgeous in black but not my style.
Of course the lady selling this piece did not want to repaint this beautiful buffet in white and re stencil it.  The piece was too gorgeous the way it was.  So...........

I found the same exact buffet on FB market Place for $99.  What are the chances of that happening!  I should have bought a lottery ticket that day with scoring the same piece for that price.

My saint of a hubby said let's get it and I will paint it white for you and you hunt down that stencil.  He also wink, wink knew he was going to get a newer bigger TV for the new place if we had a bigger piece to set it on !!!   While I was packing boxes he was painting this piece for me.

Her stencil was in gold which looked beautiful on the black.  I was going to use black hardware on my white piece.  The same stencil she used in gold would not look great with my black hardware.  This stencil use to come in black.  It was discontinued.  :( face until I went on Ebay and found a lady selling the rare and discontinue stencil from her stash!!! SCORE again!!! What are the chance of this happening?!!  Seriously should have bought a lottery ticket that day.  I was on a roll lol!

Here is a sample pic I found of this stencil on a cream cabinet door.  I know it will look even better on my white buffet.
I am waiting for it to arrive then I can finish up this project before the move in a few weeks.
Stay tuned and as soon as it is done I will post a picture of the finished TV stand/buffet.
I saved $495 to purchase the black and gold buffet.  Found the same buffet on FB market place for $99 and stencil for $10 on
eBay.  I was happy to save some $$ to make a copy of her beautiful piece to fit my decor in the new place.
I will have that up soon to show you the finished project.

I have been wrapping, going through and organizing and purging and packing.

The hall outside our condo is filling up with boxes packed.
With all the downsizing in the last few moves I have this down to a science.
I have most of the condo packed.  Just have a few things to go but with still having two weeks of living here we need some kitchen and bathroom supplies left unpacked.

I am so ready to leave this condo and move into the new home.
We will not share common living spaces anymore.  We will have our own outdoor spaces and own garage and entry to ourselves.
Lots of people love condo living where you share the same entry spaces, garage space etc.  I have not been a big fan of that.  While this place is beautiful right on the golf course Terry and I found condo living is not for us.

The townhome is a ranch and we will have more privacy.
More living space and lots of golf for Terry and pool and clubhouse for us to enjoy.

It is a gated community so that will be a nice safety feature.

Have a great week everyone.
Hugs,
Kris

  4. Getting a new piece, painting and packing all at the same time - gaaah! lol

I agree that you will like living in a townhome more than a condo. I know how much you love outdoor space and I think you'll be happier with a space to grow your own flowers once again, having more space for your grandkids when they sleep over, and more space to entertain.

  13. Why does it not surprise me that you are already working on furnishing that new townhome lol?! Having all those boxes packed and out of the way made for a great working studio, am I right?? And I love Terry' motivation, getting a new, bigger tv. I cannot wait to see this new place. I'm with you on condo living - not for me.

I forgot where you are moving? single house? more room? garage?

  20. I am so excited for you to get moved. I can't wait to see the buffet all painted. Seriously, you SHOULD have bought a lottery ticket when you scored that deal. What a find!!!!

This condo living isn't bad here. We have our own 'place'-no shared spaces--our own driveway, garage, front and back patio--so I know you WILL LOVE having your own space again in your new place.

Happy packing and moving! xo xo xo Diana
