Remember the drama with the bed. Well after all we went through and days without a bed it finally got delivered. That night I went to make the bed and get it ready for our first sleep and was looking forward not another night on couch. I was so excited only to have my dreams crushed to find out it was not right. It was the firmest mattress not the middle firm.
You know the story of goldilocks. There was the firm papa bear and the middle firm but soft momma bear and then the squishy baby bear. We were suppose to get the firm but soft Mamma bear bed. Instead we got the firm papa bear. OMG what a crazy mess. So we have been sleeping on this very firm hard bed until they can trade out this one for the right one. That will be coming sometime on Thursday.
The crazy world Terry and I live in sometimes. Nothing seems to ever just go right and normal.
Stay tuned for more up dates as we are headed to the finish line. I am so proud of how much we have accomplished in a week.
It is beginning to feel like a home.
We are headed to Michigan this coming Labor Day Weekend. We cannot wait to lay around and float in the pool and hang out on Lake Michigan and the beach.
The last vacation to Michigan was when negotiations were going on with the buy and sale of the houses. Not relaxing at all. This time should be a lot more rest and relaxing time.
Have a great new week. Hugs, Kris |
LOVE it, Kris! you guys have accomplished so much. it's looking amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt's impressive how much work y'all have done! And I LOVE your wallpaper. So sorry about your bed: That's so annoying! We have a saying here: Check the bag! Like when you purchase food out, and the order is never right?!?! It works for everything because when you are dealing with humans, things often are not done correctly, especially the fulfillment of orders. I think people are terribly distracted these days! We have a sofa being delivered on Thursday. Fingers crossed it's what we ordered!
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteOMG!! I do not know how you and Terry can keep doing this...I ca not even think about moving once let alone all the times and remodeling you have done in the last few years....Bless you both!! It looks lovely!! Enjoy your upcoming vacation because you both certainly need it!!
Hugs,

Oh girl! There’s always some drama, right? I’d be beyond annoyed with the whole bed thing. Hopefully it will be sorted soon. The plantain shutters look amazing as does the front door. It’s a pretty color. Love your wallpaper for the bedroom! The back deck, well let’s just say even from the peek I can see, the color clashes. Y’all have done a lot of work in a short time! Looking forward to the decorating stage.

Oh, Kris, just an incredible amount of progress has happened already. I love the wallpaper and wainscoting your going to use. I hope your trip to MI is relaxing this time, and that the bed does, indeed, come this Thursday!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I think about moving in 6 months, I kind of have a panic attack.
ReplyDeletethe good thing is we do not need to sell and get out of this huge old beast of a house in order to buy the new house - all thanks to a generous gift from my dear loving father that none of us knew about until after his passing. Anyway, Both of you have accomplished very very much and that is excellent. What a stinking bummer about the bed. Jeeeeez. What brand is this thing, or the company? I want to make sure I do not wade into that situation unknowingly.
How long is your drive to Lake Michigan? I thought both of you reside in Ohio? I forgot.
the wall paper and the wainscoting looks fabulous. Now you have me on fire for cool stuff. Did you order the wainscoting from Homie Depot or another company? Superb and well done.
I am so happy for both of you
Way to go Kris and Terry. I cannot believe how much you two have accomplished in a week. Kudos to you both. That Michigan vacation is well deserved. The painting all looks pristine. So sorry about the firm bed again. Someone needs to check the order before sending it out. The wallpaper and wainscoting look lovely. I am so excited for you. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHey Girl Hey....it is actually letting me comment, though anonymously. I know you know who I am ;) The house is looking fabulous and I can not wait to come over and see it. You and Terry have already totally transformed your home, which is not surprising at all. Thank you again for allowing me to be a part of your journey. You know how much I adore and love you guys!! Have a great time this weekend and let's plan a date when you get back!!
ReplyDeleteWow Kris, you both did so much in a weeks time. You did a great job painting the front door and I love that color. You two have worked so hard with moving into the new house that I hope you both enjoy and relax on your get away to Michigan. Good luck with the bed situation too!
ReplyDeleteThe place looks awesome. I love that wainscoting and the wallpaper. I'm so funny since most of my house is rustic and Texas but I do love the softer things too. I have one guest room that leans toward vintage. I've never heard of having to have the same color of front door as the rest of the houses. How interesting. Are all the houses white or a mix? Just curious. Can't wait to see how you decorate. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys have gotten so much accomplished in just a week!!!! I love the new plantation shutters on the patio doors. Everything looks so beautiful.....
ReplyDeleteHave a relaxing time on your vacation.

You definitely deserve a break!! You have accomplished so much in two weeks. Enjoy your getaway! Judy Clark
ReplyDeleteEverything looks amazing, Kris! You two are unbelievable. I am not kidding when I say you have accomplished more in a week than we have in 34 years!! I would hire you guys in a heartbeat to paint our trim and hang new doors...we are pathetic DIYers!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry I am late to comment, Kris! I cannot believe all the work that you and Terry have completed in such a short time. You all must be exhausted. I love the wallpaper and wainscoting, both are beautiful. I know you are anxious to get all the decorating finished, that is what makes it feel like home. I will be anticipating the finished project, which will have your style stamped on it!
ReplyDeleteYou and Terry certainly have done lots of work already. I know you are ready for the decorating touches. Love the wallpaper choice too. I cannot wait to see the progress....
ReplyDeleteWe’re all so grateful for your updates especially with all you are accomplishing. You and Terry are an inspiration to us all. Your energy and talents are inspiring. I can’t wait to see the finale!! I know it will be amazing! Well wishes to you both.
DeleteOh, I love it all that yall have so far accomplished! (How surprising, right..since your homes are always "picture perfect". :0) ) ... Love the umbrella door wreath, also..so cute. I hope you both have an extraordinary relaxing vacation..so well deserved by both of you hardworkers. Our double garage always fits only one car, sadly.. :0).. Take care and I think you got lucky with that non-optional blue color for the door, too. :0)
ReplyDeleteOne week? Omigosh! The place looks beautiful and you've accomplished so much. You need to come over to my house and help motivate me to finish what I started two years ago! Haha. I'm sorry to hear about the bed. That's a mess, especially during a week of heavy lifting. I hope your Michigan weekend if filled with nothing but peace and relaxation!! xo
ReplyDeleteYou got a lot done, Kris....but I am not surprised. You are a whirlwind in motion when you want to get things done. Terry did a lot of painting and I know you are so appreciative of that. I can't wait to see the finished project and now I want to move again. lol. Much love to you- Diana. ps...Enjoy your Labor Day getaway.....
