A few snippets of updates on the new house

I have my vintage faux fireplace set up in the new dining room.

The dining room is starting to come together.

I got this beautiful fire place mantel spray from a sweet friend for a house warming gift.  The pictures I found at Hobby Lobby.  My love of neutrals tan, creams and whites are coming together in the dining space.

We still have things to do but at least I am getting a little bit of decor up to make it feel less stark and more like a room put together lol!

Bathroom mirror is up.  Still waiting on the new counter top and sink for the bathroom.  They were to be installed on Wednesday this week and apparently they were not in to be installed.  Not surprising since nothing can ever go as planned.
So we wait on the kitchen and bathroom counter tops.

We took out the old medicine cabinet and put up this chippy hand towel holder in its place.
The bathroom is also coming together but still have to wait on the new counter top and sink to arrive and be installed.  Hope to have that soon.

This is the kitchen when we moved in a few weeks ago.  The next pictures will show some of the progress we have made in the kitchen.

All the old doors and drawer fronts came off and new door fronts were ordered.  We painted the frames of the cabinets.

Took down 4 of the upper cabinets in the kitchen to add storage to the laundry room.  Will have that to show soon.

New handles were ordered off of Amazon for the new cabinet door fronts.

Glass drawer pull knobs were ordered off of Amazon for the drawers.

The new cabinet doors and drawers are looking pretty great.

The new cabinet door fronts and drawer fronts arrived the other day and we installed them.  Just waiting on the counter tops and backsplash this kitchen should start to come together.
They told me it would be 4 to 6 weeks on the cabinet doors and drawer fronts and they came in a week.  SCORE!!!
We were excited to find out they were coming quickly.  Of course our excitement was dashed when the installers called Tuesday night to tell us they would not be coming in the morning.  No counter tops arrived to be installed.  :(

At least we were able to get the doors and drawers done.

I will have more to show in the coming days as things get finished.

In two weeks we got all the walls and ceilings painted.  Wainscoting started in the front entry, new doors put on the bedrooms, closets etc.
New kitchen cabinets and door fronts installed.
Not too shabby for two weeks.
Terry is my hero and has worked hard on getting things done.

I will have more to show of treasures found at the Found Cottages Mercantile Market we went to over Labor Day Weekend.
It was so nice to get away from the painting and work in the new place and rest and relax at the beach and by the pool.

I feel so great about this new place.  I know when we get it done we are going to just love it.

Have a great rest of the week.
Hugs,
Kris

  13. It' starting to look like it's been Kristilized! I think you need to grab that word and go with it. You do such a great job on all that you and Terry do...the vision and the gutwork...between the two of you there is nothing you can't design and do. As you know, I will take a week with Terry anytime you want to loan him out. lol. I could show him all the wonderful things Packer Country has to offer and he will never want to be a Bears fan again. lol

The kitchen is amazing and I can't believe how big it is! How close are you to Sandy's place? I think it is wonderful you are so close to your sweet friend now.

Have a wonderful week-hope your countertops come this week. xo xo xo Diana
