It was a perfect fall get away. Beautiful, restful and quiet. We stayed in a cute little town right outside Saugatuck. Our daughter Kim and SIL Eddie might be inheriting a gorgeous home in this sweet town. We checked out the area and it is beautiful. The town is mostly farmers and a population just under 2,000. The downtown feels like you just walked into the 50's. Sweet drug store and little coffee shop and cafe. We had a yummy breakfast at the Blue Goose Cafe. I love these little towns where everyone knows each other and everyone is so friendly. |
what a great looking trip! I love going shopping in places like that and looking for things to stick in the yard decor. Saw a lot of cool things I would love to stop and look at if i was shopping along beside you!
ReplyDeleteWow, so many great vendors!!! I'm sure you were really inspired by all the holiday decor?!?!?! I can't wait to see what you do with the door. :o)

That goose is just amazing! You're so fortunate to live close to all these amazing shopping spots. Thanks so much for sharing your trip!
ReplyDeleteI’d love to visit and stay in a sweet little town. I could wander in all the shops happily then enjoy the pretty Fall views from my cottage later. What cool things I spy in your photos! I can’t wait to see what the door becomes! Hunting is big in Texas too for the same reasons. And my dad and brothers hunted. I’m with you - I would have left that gorgeous deer alone.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cecilia
How fun, Kris! And how cool that Kimmie & Eddie may end up with property nearby in the small town.
ReplyDeleteYou are so fortunate to live near so many special shops. That urn oh my and the cherub bust. I can't wait to see the door.
ReplyDeleteThe drive was gorgeous too. Pretty neat that Kim may inherit a house. Deer are a huge issue in NJ, PA and a few other states. Black bear are a huge problem in NJ. Enjoy your day!
I really enjoyed looking at all of these lovely pics from your anniversary adventure. I love the cool stuff you chose to share! Amazing, I think I like the life size painted stands of Santas and the carolers
ReplyDeleteJust everything is sweet. I am interested to see what Terry makes with the door, it will be nice I am sure. The weather is getting cooler, today is the last warm day in Northern Virginia, tomorrow the temps are taking another big dive. This month just flew by. Today I am working on my charity pick up for tomorrow. Lots of clothing and clutter.... yes clothing and clutter
Happy Thursday
Such a lovely belated anniversary trip. The fall foliage is beautiful. The sweet little town sounds heavenly. How special Kimmie and Eddie might inherit a home there. You certainly always find treasure you and Terry re-love. Looking forward to seeing what he creates. Happy week Kris. Xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun trip, Kris! Happy Anniversary, my friend! I always enjoy these tours you do of shops you visit. Lots of pretty things to choose from. Can't wait to see what Terry does with the door! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!! And I love the chair you have in the first photos. :-) I have a chair similar to it. My parents gave it to me, and I re loved it. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week getting creative. Love, Carla
I can't wait to see what you do with the door. I love the silver Christmas tree!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun tour!! Every time you share this place, I wish I lived closer. They have so many beautiful items. The fact that you met a fan there is awesome. That's super cool. What a lovely place for Kimmie to settle. You'll have to keep us posted and I can't wait to see what you do with the door. Oh..and ps...I'm generally not a huge fan of the deer heads, but wow, that one is gorgeous. xo

ReplyDeleteKris, you must have had a wonderful time. I love that type of shops and country. We used to have shops like that around here but not so much anymore. I saw LizMarie's blog about their Christmas open house and thought that must be where you were going. Great door and know what you come up with will be spectacular..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteOh my word Kris! Such a wonderful place full of exquisite treasures! Thanks for taking us there by your photos. It's just wonderful to be able to visit places that feel like stepping back in time. Can't wait to see what Terry does to transform that door. Gilly in UK xoxo
