Random Acts of Kindness

Every year at this time I like to do little acts of kindness.

In the world we live it is a good to share our hearts and kindness.

I try to do things throughout the year to show kindness but I think it is really nice to share at the giving season.

Sometimes it just takes a smile and hello to someone you pass.

Other times maybe buying lunch for someone or surprising them with an unexpected card to brighten their day.

Sharing kindness is so easy and most times does not cost anything and it can make a big difference in someone's life.

I am sending out some fun little cards and gifts to family and friends.

I found these cute cards on Etsy.  I will be enclosing a Starbucks gift card with a special message from my heart and hope as they begin the Christmas shopping they will have a warm or frosty beverage on me.

I found these bags of individually wrapped "perfect man" salted Carmel filled Chocolates.  I will be adding some of these sweet and decadent little men to girlfriends to enjoy.
How fun are these!!!!

When I see someone on the street asking for money I will go and buy them food and share a few dollars with them.  We never know what someone is going through and what their story is but sharing kindness gives them faith in humanity and it makes your heart feel good.

I have some dear friends that give so much of themselves to help others and never expect anything in return.  I like to send them a sweet gift of kindness when they least expect it.

I recently had a very unfortunate costly thing happen when I was trying to do something special for someone.  I was sick about it and I said a little prayer for peace in my heart and to accept the disappointment.

The next day I got an email from a person that does not even know me but learned of my problem and reached out to help me.  With his help I am able to make this special gift happen.

Sometimes if you just turn off the news and get out in life and really experience the people around us you will find that humanity and kindness and love still exist in places you least expect.

Trust me if you give kindness it will return to you when you need it most.

So go out and give a smile or a helping hand to someone that needs some love and kindness.

I have started my Christmas Decor with my daughter hosting Thanksgiving I can get a jump on decorating.  I am loving all the space I have for decorating in our new place.  I will share my decorating soon.  How about you are the traditional wait until after Thanksgiving to start on Christmas or are you early with Christmas decor?

Hope if you are getting the Christmas lists going and decorating you have the holiday music going and are enjoying every minute.

This time of year goes so quickly.

Big Hugs,

Kris

  1. Just sending a card to someone can have a huge impact - kindness, as you pointed out, doesn’t have to be costly. We helped a widow move some things to her new place yesterday. She didn’t have much to move but couldn’t manage by herself. Took us maybe an hour? And she was so grateful.
I usually start my Christmas decorating on Black Friday but since we will be at my daughter’s for Christmas, I started yesterday. Got my tree up. No decorations yet but I can enjoy the soft glow of the lights. At least, we finally cool down to where it feels Fallish. Lol.
Laughing at the “perfect man”. Too funny!

  5. Hi Kris, ever since Covid...and isolation, I know that older people are more eager to visit in the line, or even on the street, dog walkers wave and stop to chat. You never know how much someone might need a kind word! Totally agree with you and let's be kinder. The world certainly needs it now! Sandi

  7. Kris, I know you won't agree with me but you are as close to perfect as anyone I know. The top of my bucket list is to meet you in person someday. Probably won't make any difference as I feel like I know you now. A little kindness will go a long way in these uncertain and messed up times..xxoJudy

  8. I can testify personally that you are one of the best, most generous, and sweetest gals around. I still keep the travel tote in my car and cannot tell you how many times we've used something you included. I'm so sorry that you were treated unkindly, but God blessed didn't He. Happy weekend!

  10. Oh, Kris. You have a heart of gold and it shines brightly to those around you. Having met you firsthand, and spent time with you, has been such a blessing to me. You always put everyone else first and I am sorry that something/someone along the way disappointed you. Life is just not fair sometimes.

I am decorating early this year because Tara is hosting Thanksgiving and we are going to be gone for at least a third (if not more) of Decemberar with John's trip to Mayo. I am not sure if I am going full tilt this year but you know me--once I get started it is hard to stop. lol...we have that in common, I think.

Happy new November week. In the 50s here today and tomorrow and then getting COLD. ugh.... xo Diana

  13. Hello Friend, oh thank you for sharing this ... you are right, you never know what that little act of kindness can do for a person.
I have experienced it with my bouquets. I gave one away to a lady walking by one day, and it ended up a family member had recently died, she thanked me so much for the bouquet.

  14. Kris - you are undoubtedly the most caring and giving person i have ever encountered in blog land. Your thoughtfulness is overwhelming. You always know the exact thing to do - probably before the person even knows that they need someone to do anything. I count it a huge blessing that you are in my life and who knows? Maybe we will meet in person someday. Thank you for all you do for so many people. Happy Thanksgiving! Judy Clark

  18. Kris, you always find the most adorable items and the fact that you share them friends and strangers in need is wonderful. I know that for years my girls referred to you as The Present Fairy and they did so with good reason! I always try to operate with kindness and pay it forward for the many, many times it's been shown to me...even if it's just holding the door or saying thank you at a store. The world needs some happy...and it makes me happy to contribute to it! xo
