Thinking Spring decor and some new treasures.

I found this old Chicago wooden crate recently.  Since I live in the suburbs of Chicago and the character to this box I bought it.  I stuffed it with old dried primitive flowers.

I cannot brag on Terry enough.  He has tools and knows how to use them and he also has artistic abilities too.  He did up this chalk board for Spring.

I am so over this winter and hope we get an early spring.

Remember the flowers I showed you in my last post.  I found these at Cracker Barrel.  I thought they were so cool and unique.

I hung them on the wall behind my desk.  I am looking for some cool wallpaper for this wall or possibly painting that one wall in a darker color to make the flowers pop.  Still on the hunt.

I recently purchased some dried flowers items.  This being one of them.  It is a daisy dried flower wreath.

This piece I also purchased.  It is a dried flower spray.
When I got both the wreath and the spray I knew I had a great place for them.

They are perfect hung on my old coat hanger with my chippy flower market box.

Yep finished this decor on my dining room wall.
Everything went together so nicely.

Terry has been working on his half of the office area.  He has his wallpaper up and painted.  Now he just has to find what fire department antiques he has that he will finish decorating his office.

I am getting ready for my upcoming Girlfriend Party.  It is a nice night of wonderful friendship shared.

I have been doing this party for around 20 years now.  It started as a small group of my besties and it has grown with adding my two daughter's besties to our mix.

We play games, wear comfy jammies and eat and drink and just have a lot of fun together.

I will have a post up soon on some of the prizes and favors I am working on for the party.

We are in very low record temps here in Illinois this week.  The weather people are promising a warm up by the weekend.  Geez I hope so I am so over this winter.

Stay safe and warm where you are.
Have a great rest of the week.
Hugs,
Kris

I haven't been to one in forever, but my daughter literally just came home from vacation, stopped at one and bought me the most adorable red rooster placemat! Now of course, I want to go, but the nearest one is two states away!! Boo!! Stay warm and think spring!! xo

  3. Wow Kris, I love that cute bunny chalk art work that Terry made! I also love the cute floral arrangements you made for the wall. The flowers on the wall in your office look amazing. I can't wait to see what Terry does with his side of the office. I know you are going to have such a fun girlfriend party and wow to 20 years of your party! I think we are all over winter this year. Stay warm and enjoy the rest of the week.

  4. Well, I can tell by the pretty flowers how ready you are for spring! Love those, and didnt realize those behind your desk were suchbstatement makers. Love that wooden box and its connection to your area. I have one that's of local interest, but better suited for Halloween. It's from a now-defunct axe company, lol!
Terry's amazing! That little chalk sign is super!
We're also in a deep freeze, more snow and ice yesterday and today, and a warmup coming, thank God! However, they're warning us of another polar freeze on the 1st! *@#! Enough!!

  5. I love that old wooden box! Great find. The dried daisy bunches are adorable too. Love how it’s all coming together. I’m over the cold too. We’re in the teens this morning - I know it’s nothing like y’all have but it’s way colder than we’re used to. I’m ready for Spring! Stay warm. Wish I could be at your party. It sounds like so much fun!

It’s so cozy. Terry is a true artist too. I am also sick of winter - it’s 10 degrees here this morning for the 8th day in a row. Hurry spring. Margy in KY

  8. Terry is definitely talented! And I'm sure you don't have to beg and wrangle to get him to do something.

Years ago, dried flowers were all the rage and then silk blooms became popular. Some ladies forego any sort of flowers but looking at your pretty pictures, I think they are missing out. The flowers are especially welcome this time of year. We are all sick of cold weather and precipitation of all sorts. Six° when I got up this morning.

  10. Love your bits of spring decor so far! Wow, Terry is really talented. I didn't know he could draw on top of building things.
A friend of mine hosts girlfriend's parties several times a year. We don't wear pajamas, but we have a lot of fun together...potluck food, drinks, games, lots of talking and laughing. Enjoy!

  11. Everything is so pretty Kris and Terry is an absolute wonder! You make the most amazing couple. Keep warm, as it sounds horrid. Here in the UK it has been very mild today. Perhaps these warmer temperatures will head over to you soon. Hugs, Gilly UK

  12. Beautiful Kris! I love dried flowers. I'm thinking of wallpapers for our bathrooms. I can look at fabric and old wallpaper for days. I really love the old pieces you find.

Send pictures of your girlfriend party. I enjoy them. Reeses is recovering from an eye abrasion. It's been a tough 2 weeks.
