I carefully took each little chocolate bunny out of the box. I then used a wine cork screw to put a hole in the bottom of each bunny. |

You want to be very gentle to make the hole. The wine cork screw did the job easily. |

I got the ribbon from the dollar store. They really do have a nice selection of ribbon. |

I took a clear straw for this project. Not from the dollar store but free from McDonalds lol! |

The grass was 50cents. |

These little hammers were needed for this gift. |

I rolled up a $20 dollar bill and put it inside the cut plastic straw. This way it would not be touching the chocolate or getting funky inside these bunnies. |

Then I put the plastic straw holding the $20 inside the hole I made in each bunny. |

I put the bunnies back into the box and filled a plastic gift bag with the grass, hammer and cute bunny. There you have it a sweet gift all made from the dollar store. I have made these larger and you can stuff them with candy and money. You can click on the highlighted link to see what I did last year with the larger bunnies. Chocolate Easter Bunny Surprise I did the smaller bunnies this year because my grand kiddos like cash more than candy lol! Have a great weekend. Hugs. Kris |

Love it! You brought back memories of when I used to do this for my kids. Each year they went straight for the bunny to smash it open and get their cash!
ReplyDeleteThis is a genius idea, Kris and I like the way you put the money in the straw to keep the cooties out of the candy. I am totally going to do this for my kids this year, because they too like cash more than candy!! Thanks for the idea!! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeletesuch a cute idea, Kris. I always love seeing your gift ideas for holidays! Happy Week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea and I know everyone will love those bunnies for Easter. I hope you enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteCute! I don't have anyone to make these for, but I was just at the Dollar Tree yesterday picking up a bunch of stuff for the residents of a local nursing home. It was posted on a local FB page that the nursing home needed small gift items for prizes for the Bingo games. The dollar store is great for this...I got candy items, some sugar-free candies too, socks (male & female), large print word search books, colored pencils, Chapsticks, lotions, etc.
ReplyDeleteWell, isn't that adorable?! I'm not sure what I love better- the basket bunny idea, or your nails!!! Ohmygosh, so cute! Happy Friday, Kris!
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative. I’ll have to checkout my Dollar Tree. Although ours went to $1.25 and now carry items for $3-$5. I have some cute Easter stuff from there for outside but it’s been really windy here so I’m waiting. Have a great day! Margy in KY
ReplyDeleteThis is cutest idea! Using a straw as Kim said to keep the cooties away is brilliant! 👏
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. :-) What a great tip about using the straw. Very clever.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this idea, Kris, and I’ll be trying it. What a fun idea even for older grandkids! Thank you for the clever idea. 😘
